Our self-paced PD courses

empower educators to provide

student-centered, evidence-based

literacy instruction in their

virtual classrooms.

The Literacy Architects provides self-paced learning solutions for
school districts and educators. Our online courses make it easy for
teachers of all grade-levels to apply evidence-based ELAR strategies in their classrooms and earn professional development hours along the way.

Let us train your teachers so you can help students reach their
full potential through literacy.

Let’s face it — distance learning can be challenging. It’s a learning curve for both students and educators.

Teachers have done their best to adapt their literacy curriculums to new formats.

But between lesson planning, filming videos, and keeping students engaged and focused – they may be feeling overwhelmed.

It’s time to empower our teachers with the tips and tools they need to confidently deliver high-quality literacy instruction to their students.

With another semester quickly approaching, let’s ensure your educators have what they need to deliver engaging lessons, and that our students can continue to learn, succeed, and thrive in their virtual classrooms.

Every day, teachers strive to maximize each
student’s potential.
To continue to excel, our teachers need . . .

  • Evidence-based strategies that are effective for ELAR instruction
  • Flexible professional development models that suit different needs and schedules
  • Clear protocols, expectations, and norms around distance learning
  • Bite-sized modules teachers can study on their schedule and revisit throughout the year

With these points in mind, we’ve designed a special course bundle that connects your teachers to the training and
PD hours they need.

Seema [and The Literacy Architects] has been assisting me as a literacy consultant for the past two years with the TEA SSI/Community Partnerships initiatives. She has participated at several state-level conferences by presenting literacy information in break out sessions, and she has provided instructional strategies and resources through webinars.

She is a very valuable professional with the expertise to engage school leaders and teachers with change and improvement efforts. Her work with the school districts that I support has yielded improved literacy practices and outcomes for children. I highly recommend her to support school districts with effective literacy practices. She is awesome!!!!

About The Literacy Architects, LLC

The Literacy Architects, LLC provides curriculum and professional development services on evidence-based reading and writing practices.

We’ve partnered with many organizations, including Reading Partners, Leading Educators, the DC Public Education Fund, and the DC Public Charter School Board to improve literacy instruction for students across the nation. We’ve also presented at several statewide conferences for the Texas Education Agency, and they’ve gone on to distribute our self-paced courses to districts across Texas.

In these courses, you’ll be learning from our founder and CEO, Seema Tejura. Seema is a certified reading specialist and dyslexia practitioner and has held school- and district-level positions in urban school districts across the country.

We know that administrators are busy and that finding time to provide meaningful training opportunities to teachers can be difficult.

Our self-paced PD courses are research-based while still being engaging, practical, and fun. In only a few hours, teachers can walk away with concrete takeaways that they can bring to the classroom.

By creating these courses, we hope to support educators with evidence-based literacy strategies, tackle the challenges of distance teaching, and earn professional development hours in a fun, engaging, and unique professional development format.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long will teachers have access to the course?

After purchasing, you will have immediate access to the courses! You’ll be able to access the courses for six months after purchase.

How long does each course take to complete?
The courses range from 1.5 to 3.5 hours long, making them easy to complete in an afternoon or over the course of a single week.
How often are these courses updated?
Unlike other online courses, we stay on top of research around the science of teaching reading, adult learning, and virtual instruction and incorporate these strategies into our work. We also take client feedback seriously and use comments to improve our PD.
My classes are hybrid or in-person. Will the course content still be helpful?

Yes! Outside of distance learning that began because of the pandemic, these courses can help improve the overall quality of ELAR instruction with their focus on best practices such as the gradual release of responsibility model, discussion practices, and collaborative activities to increase student engagement and learning.

Our courses have supported administrators in leading campus studies around specific practices, creating campus expectations, protocols, and norms around distance learning, and enhancing existing instructional plans through applying remote instruction best-practices.

I am an administrator and I’d like to purchase a bundle for my teachers. Can I preview the course before purchase?

Yes, we can set you up with complimentary access for 48 hours to explore the content. Please contact us at courses@theliteracyarchitects.com for more information.

Are PD credits available for this course?

After completing the course (all lessons, including any discussion posts and assignments), we will issue a certificate of completion. We are an approved CPE provider for Texas. Because each state and district has different requirements for PD credit, this certificate does not guarantee that you will be granted credit by your district or state. Please check with your school, district, or state professional development office to find out if these trainings qualify for credit.

Do I need to attend the course at a certain time or date?

No, this is a self-paced course bundle, and you can go through the lessons on your schedule. You can also go back to rewatch lessons as needed. However, for the best learning experience, we recommend completing the lessons for each chapter in one sitting.

How much does each course cost?

Individual licenses are $97 per person per course and can be purchased here. We do have bundled and group discounts available. Contact us using one of the links above to get a price quote!

With these courses, your district can enhance the overall quality of ELAR instruction and provide your teachers with targeted
